Isavia has implemented a new Radio Operator Simulator from Tern Systems.  The simulator is used to train users on the Tern Radio Operator Flight Data System, RO-FDS, which is operated by Isavia’s Gufunes Communications Centre in Reykjavik, Iceland.

As usual, Tern Systems was present at the 2012 ATC Global Exhibition in Amsterdam. This year our parent company, Isavia (www.isavia.is), participated with us on the stand with a new exciting design and volcanic theme.

The event proved to be the most successful yet, surpassing last year’s record of 5.300 attendees with ATM professionals travelling from over 115 countries to attend. This reflected as well in the number of guests attending our stand which doubled last years visits.

Isavia has decommissioned its current ATC system in Keflavik, including the radar monitoring system and flight data processing system, and adopt in its place the TAS system from Tern Systems with all the mentioned features.

2012 flight plan for Korea

KAC has signed a contract with Tern Systems to implement the ICAO new Flight Plan changes to the TAS system in Jeju Island and the ACC backup system for the Korea FIR.

The project aims at implementing the ICAO Flight Plan changes to TAS so that all the functionality in the new FPL format can be applied to the flight profile. This includes changes in the Air Situation Display and the Electronic Strips.

Sepinggan International Airport has announced the co-operation with Tern Systems to renew the current approach and tower ATM system in 2012. The system consists of 9 working positions in both APP/APS and tower as well as voice communication and recording systems.

In 2010, The Mohammed VI Civil Aviation International academy, chose Tern Systems to design, customize and deliver a 3D tower simulation solution for the ONDA Academy. The facility consists of 1 180° curved screen simulator with 2 controllers and 3 pseudo-pilots and 4 3D training positions with 52″ plasma monitors with 1 pseudo-pilot position each. As the project progressed, 4 approach controller positions were added to the project to simultaneously train the APP/APS and Tower controllers.
